Spiritual Companioning: Listening to the Soul

 (In-Person, Online or Phone)

Listening you into your own inner wisdom with spiritual practices that help integrate body, mind, heart and soul.

Breathe, Pause, Listen, Discern

Spiritual Companioning is both an ancient and modern way of being in a sacred relationship together to listen beyond the incessant noise of our outer life to the quiet inner essence of our soul.

Now, more than ever, there seems to be a renewed interest in Spiritual Companioning, reflecting a deep yearning to find meaning, discover truth, and connect in authentic ways that remind us we are not alone, that we’re part of something much larger than our limited individual self.

What is a Spiritual Companion or Spiritual Director?

A Spiritual Companion invites sacred space to slow down, to listen, to dream, to explore and discern your own path to personal wholeness, and deeper intimacy with the Universal Source of Love that connects us all.

While this sounds lofty, along the way we talk about everyday things like work, play, family, relationships, personal struggles and challenges. Yet we always come back to the central question “Where is God or Divine Love in this, especially in our most difficult moments?”

Spiritual Companioning helps us find meaning and healing as we journey through periods of grieving, illness, and other kinds of loss. With prayerful awareness and deep listening, we can also work through big decisions in your life, to consider which choices are most aligned with your soul’s purpose, your deepest longings, and the sacred covenants you have made.

A Spiritual Companion sees and listens to you in a way that creates a safe supportive space where you can uncover, reveal, and heal that which obscures the light of your soul. We point you back to your own inner wisdom and knowing by listening for what is most “alive” in you in each moment, asking questions, and guiding you in spiritual practices that help integrate and heal body, mind, heart, and soul.

Ultimately, Spiritual Companioning offers you the intimate experience of seeing and being seen with eyes of unconditional love that reflects what is already within you, and the wholeness of Divine Love we all embody.

“What greater form of intimacy can there be than to see your true self, your soul, reflected as if you were looking in a mirror?”

I hope you’ll join me on a spiritual pilgrimage, weaving the many strands of your life together to create a new story that resonates in your heart, and heals your thirsty soul. This is a quest, an inner journey to know yourself and honor that which resonates most deeply and passionately in you.

Regular meetings are essential to effective spiritual guidance. Once our relationship is established, a typical rhythm for meeting is once a month for one hour. However, if you are going through a spiritual crisis or difficult time in your life, we can arrange to meet more often for a set amount of time.

I offer Spiritual Companioning either online, using the zoom platform, or in-person at my private studio in downtown Lethbridge.

As a trained professional I have a set hourly fee, however, if you are experiencing financial hardship, we can work something out for a set time.

"I’m so grateful for Vickie’s compassionate and deep listening presence both one-on-one in spiritual companioning, and in our sangha meditation group. The meditation and yoga practices she teaches, along with breathing practices to calm the nervous system, have helped to integrate my mind, body, and spirit, giving me an overall sense of calm and well-being when I need it most. "Before starting Yoga Nidra and Spiritual Direction with Vickie, I was struggling but couldn’t seem to get to the bottom of it. In the face of depression, anxiety, grieving, and the unknown, I kept trying to distract myself with work, my kids, my parents, etc. Of course, keeping myself too busy didn’t work. It wasn’t until I discovered the deep rest and relaxation of Yoga Nidra, that I finally began to feel better. Now I find myself wanting to conquer the world to make up for lost time!"
