With

Vickie MacArthur

At its essence, yoga is a practice of returning to our inherent Oneness, integrating body, mind, heart, and soul.

We breathe. We stretch. We connect to our body to heal and grow.

We slow down. We listen. We observe our thoughts. We honour our feelings.

We breathe, we soften, we open our hearts.

Like a lotus growing out of the mud of our life, we stretch together towards the Light.

Mindfulness in Everyday Life:
A Day of Mindfulness

Saturday, March 14th, 9:30am - 3:30pm
at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta

"Walking in mindfulness brings us peace and joy, and makes our life real....

There is no need to struggle. Every step brings you home to the here and now."
---Thich Nhat Hanh

Join us for a full Day of Mindfulness with teachings and practices to help cultivate Mindfulness in Everyday Life.

We’ll start the day with guided meditation, followed by a class and discussion with Sensei Roland Ikuta on “Buddhism in Everyday Life,” then enjoy our lunch (please bring a bag lunch) with gratitude and mindful attention.

The afternoon will be a mix of practices that can be integrated into everyday life including sitting meditation, breathing practices, walking meditation, and deep relaxation. The day will end with simple practice songs to accompany you along the way, bringing you back to the present moment.

This Day of Mindfulness is offered by your kind donation to support the teachings and the sangha.

"Pay what you can" allows everyone to come regardless of their income.

All donations shared between the temple and Spirit in Motion Yoga.

Vickie's writing reflects keen attention to embodied practices. Her prose reflects the natural rhythms of life, like breathing and walking, and is lyrical in style. Her poetry invites the reader to pause, contemplate, and reflect amid picture-perfect imagery. Vickie infuses her work with equal measures of sensuality and spirituality to nourish both body and soul.
