A Day of Mindfulness at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta

Saturday, March 14th, 9:30am - 3:30pm

Join us for a full Day of Mindfulness with teachings and practices to help cultivate Mindfulness in Everyday Life.


We’ll start the day with guided meditation, followed by a class and discussion with Sensei Roland Ikuta on “Buddhism in Everyday Life,” then enjoy our lunch (please bring a bag lunch) with gratitude and mindful attention.


The afternoon will be a mix of practices that can be integrated into everyday life including sitting meditation, breathing practices, walking meditation, and deep relaxation. The day will end with simple practice songs to inspire your life and accompany you along the way.


This Day of Mindfulness is offered in the spirit of "dana", your kind donation to support the teachings and the sangha.

"Pay what you can" allows everyone to come regardless of their income.

Join Vickie and the Dawning Light Sangha for a morning of practice together. Learn simple meditation practices to calm the body and clear the mind. Share in a welcoming and inclusive community to learn and support your meditation practice.


While inspired by the universal truth of the Buddhist teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, we are an inclusive group open to people of all faiths and traditions. We practice sitting meditation, walking meditation, breathing practices and deep relaxation. We also provide time for connecting and sharing together, to help foster community. Meditation is offered free of charge from the generosity of our hearts. However, in the Buddhist spirit of “dana”, please feel free to contribute as you are able to support the Dawning Light Sangha and the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta.
