Join us for meditation and practices with Earth-based themes to cultivate a deeper connection between ourselves and this precious planet we call home. (Some practices will be outside in the Lethbridge coulees, weather-permitting.)

Wednesday, May 13th, 9:30-11am:
Please join us behind the horseshoe pits in Indian Battle Park for outdoor meditation. (no online meditation.)

Love Letters From Mother Earth

One Day Retreat at the Martha Retreat Centre

Join us for a Day of Rest and Retreat, to breathe, to slow down, to just “be still", and listen deeply to Mother Earth.


Take time to commune with nature, as you walk, and sit, and reflect in the beautiful surroundings of the Martha Retreat Centre.

Be inspired by the beauty of nature in all her myriad forms.

Listen deeply for “Love Letters from Mother Earth,” as you cultivate a deeper love and connection to the earth and all creation, and to yourself.


This full day (mostly outdoor) retreat

Join Vickie and the Dawning Light Sangha for a morning of practice together. Learn simple meditation practices to calm the body and clear the mind. Share in a welcoming and inclusive community to learn and support your meditation practice.


While inspired by the universal truth of the Buddhist teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, we are an inclusive group open to people of all faiths and traditions. We practice sitting meditation, walking meditation, breathing practices and deep relaxation. We also provide time for connecting and sharing together, to help foster community. Meditation is offered free of charge from the generosity of our hearts. However, in the Buddhist spirit of “dana”, please feel free to contribute as you are able to support the Dawning Light Sangha and the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta.
