Yoga Nidra is a form of deep relaxation and guided meditation. While usually practiced lying down on your back in savasana (corpse pose), it can also be practiced in a seated position as a form of meditation. Yoga Nidra means conscious and aware “sleep”. It is a state where the body is totally relaxed, yet the mind is conscious and aware. Yoga Nidra was developed thousands of years ago in India as a way of experiencing deep states of inner peace and relaxation, while reconditioning the minds subconscious layers and beliefs. It is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 3 hours of deep sleep. As such, Yoga Nidra provides a soothing antidote to today’s busy lifestyles.

Listen to this before practicing Yoga Nidra the first time.

This track introduces you to the practice of Progressive Relaxation, alternately squeezing and releasing different parts of the body to release deeply held muscular tension and holding.

With gentle guidance from the mind, we use the energy of the breath (prana) to deliberately infuse the body with vital energy and health.
